Perry Hall Gets Fashionable!

     How important is fashion? Many students from Perry Hall answered and replied with similar answers. Most of the students that got interviewed said, when it comes to school they feel most comfortable in jeans, sneakers and, a t-shirt. They claim that outside of school they feel like they have a bit more of a variety in there outfits.

    It’s understanding that fashion is becoming a big part of people’s daily thoughts so the students of Perry Hall provided ins and outs of how people react on the subject of fashion.  The media can influence the way the adolescent mind acts or dresses, but does the clothes you wear actually affect your social life? April K. a junior at Perry Hall said “clothes in general have a toll on your social life because every one wants to look good” She believes that clothing labels you in status. It’s hard not to take in what you see on the television, but do people always have to dress to impress? Khara H. (sophomore) expressed how your personality is always a plus but if you’re wearing good clothes it will get you noticed a lot quicker.

      On a face to face interview with Anthony P. (junior) and Stephanie T. (senior), they were asked if they’d ever wear anything outside of their normal style. Stephanie said she would go for the preppy look and Anthony said he would like to dress a bit more on the classic style with dressy shoes and a button up. When suggested that he should come to school one day like that he simply replied “no I couldn’t, my friends might crack on me” Stephanie then said “clothing is your trait, if you switch up your style you may not fit in with the same crowd”   

     The students at Perry Hall know a lot about fashion. This school is full of diversity but, overall these teenagers feel the same about clothing. Looking good isn’t always going to get you far. Underneath the make up the fancy clothes and the vogue magazines lies a true beauty. Being yourself will always work out to an advantage.
