Social Studies

Christina Krause chairs the Social Studies department.

Students need 3.5 credits of social studies in order to graduate. There is a Maryland HSA test in American Government, and it is currently a graduation requirement.

Students at Perry Hall High School typically enroll in full-year courses in American Government in ninth grade, followed by World History sophomore year and US History Junior year. Seniors take a semester course called Economics and Public Issues (EPI).

Qualifying seniors can opt to take AP Economics, a full year course that prepares them for the Advanced Placement examination in that subject. AP Economics satisfies the EPI graduation requirement.
