Academics and Completer Programs

A Registration Video (8 minutes) has been made to make sure our students are getting clear and consistent information about the ever changing landscape of options in BCPS.  Feel free to contact counselors or pull us in to help with unforeseen questions.

Encourage students with questions for counselors to wait until their individual meeting as their classes won’t be finalized until after that meeting.

Consistency is key in this process this is why we have standardized the presentation.  Thank you for helping with this.

Starting December 5th through January, school counselors will begin meeting with students one on one in the halls of the 2nd floor to review the registration sheet and complete the BCPS mandated 6 Year Plan.  We will go class by class pulling students for approximately 15 minutes by alpha.  The day your classes will be scheduled for we will ask that you show a brief PowerPoint to prep them for the 6 year plan meetings.  This should be planned to be completed in lieu of a drill that day.  This is being down to best minimize disruption and instruction time missed while providing personalized course advising to our students.  More information in detailed will come next week on this.

Completer Programs at Perry Hall
Completer Programs are different pathways allowing you to fulfill your high school graduation requirements while taking classes you’re interested in along the way.  Think of completers as you would choosing a major in college.  You must choose one completer to graduate high school but many students choose to fulfill more than one completer which would be considered completing a “dual completer.”
