Senior Newsletter with Important Information

Celebration of Senior Successes       Thursday, May 24 at 6:30 PM
We are gathering perfect attendance information for the Celebration of Senior Successes. So that we don’t miss anyone, if you think your senior has perfect attendance for their senior year or perfect attendance in consecutive years that includes the senior year, please email Mr. Ken Kupyak at kkupyak@ bcps.org.  Deadline for submission to be included in the award ceremony is Friday, May 4.

All seniors are invited to join us. Students who are receiving awards and their parent will receive a notification letter ahead of time. We look forward to seeing parents of these award recipients.

Award recipients should report to the Old Social Studies Wing next to the auditorium by 
5:45 PM wearing caps and gowns, honor cords and other appropriate distinctions to prepare for the line-up (see proper graduation attire). Any student arriving after 6:00 PM will not be able to participate. The seniors will process to the stage and sit on the stage during the assembly.

While we encourage everyone to help us honor the award and scholarship recipients, we remind students that we expect civility and respect from all attendees.

After the awards celebration in the auditorium, students, parents, and staff will be invited to a social gathering in the Fine Arts lobby to continue with the celebration. Light fare will be served.

Graduation Tickets   Distributed during Rehearsal Friday May 25
ALL FINES AND OBLIGATIONS MUST BE SATISFIED PRIOR TO RECEIVING COMMENCEMENT TICKETS.

Due to seating capacity of the SECU Arena and the size of this year’s graduating class, there are a limited number of tickets that are available. Each senior will receive
six (6) graduation tickets for guests. These tickets will be distributed at the conclusion of the graduation rehearsal on May 25. LOST OR STOLEN TICKETS CANNOT BE REPLACED. There will be no extra tickets dispensed by the principal. All individuals, even infants, require a ticket for admittance.

Seniors should check to see if they have
all of their tickets before leaving the graduation rehearsal. Any financial obligation to the school during the last four years such as lost books, uniforms, or fundraising money must be met before tickets can be issued.

Graduation Rehearsal          Friday, May 25 at 7:55 AM
After going to homeroom for the last time and attendance is taken, seniors will report to the auditorium at 7:55 AM for the graduation rehearsal. This rehearsal is mandatory for those that will participate in the graduation ceremony. The Senior Slide-Show will be presented in the auditorium during the graduation rehearsal time-frame.

Graduation    Wednesday, May 30 at 7 PM
Commencement exercises for the 2018 graduating class of Perry Hall High School will occur on May 30 at 7 PM at Towson SECU Arena.  For guest safety, wanding with hand-held metal detectors and bag checks will be conducted at the Concourse entryways. Bags larger than 14 inches x 11 inches x 4 inches are not permitted.

Any student or family requiring interpreter services for deaf and hard of hearing or requiring interpreter services for a world language should contact Terri Cohee at tcohee@bcps.org. When pre-arranged, guests should be redirected to Section 104 in SECU Arena.
Seniors must arrive at the Tiger Arena (on Auburn Dr. off of Osler Dr.) by 5:45 PM. Doors at the SECU Arena will be open for seating of guests at 5:30 PM and the doors will close at 6:45 PM. Historically, traffic congestion is a problem, so plan to arrive early. Large sections of rows of chairs may not be reserved. Students should park in Lots 13, 14 or 19 and take the walking path or shuttle up to the Tiger Arena. Cars with handicap tags may park in Lot H (Lot 21). There is no drop-off at the door. All latecomers will be seated in the rear by TU attendants. Anyone who arrives after the processional begins will have to wait in the lobby until the graduates are seated before he or she will be admitted. Parents are reminded that all pictures must be taken before students line up for the ceremony. No one will be allowed to approach the stage to take pictures. Boisterous behavior will not be tolerated and will be addressed by the Towson University staff. We ask that everyone observe the formality of the graduation ceremony and not call out, scream, or make unnecessary noises. Graduates and their families would like to hear each graduate's name as the diplomas are awarded.

Directions: (From Charles Street at I-695) Take Exit 25 (Charles St.) from the Baltimore Beltway, 695. Proceed 3.1 miles on Charles St. and turn left onto Stevenson Lane. Proceed 0.9 miles on Stevenson Lane and turn left on Osler Drive. Proceed 0.4 miles on Osler Dr. and turn left onto Auburn Drive North. (For GPS, 7500 Osler Drive.) If you can GPS, set GPS to 7500 Osler Drive, Towson, MD
