Summer Reading

Summer Reading – research shows that reading – any type of reading: fiction or non-fiction books, magazines, or blogs – improves brain function, fuels interests, and increases cognitive skills. Students who read for pleasure achieve higher academic performance levels than those who don’t. ALL GATORS are encouraged to read this summer!

PHHS is partnering with the Baltimore County Public Library (BCPL) to enhance student’s summer reading experience. Explore books of your choice with the BCPL Summer Reading Challenge. Log reading on Beanstack or a paper game board.

· Completion Prizes: Read for 10 hours to get a prize. Visit any BCPL branch by August 31 with your game board.

· Prize Drawing: Earn 5 tickets for prizes like family memberships to local attractions or a Nintendo Switch. Choose prizes on Beanstack or with your game board. Drawings on September 3, winners contacted by September 6. · Click here to register and for more BCPL summer programs.
